Although most of the Qube Logistics fleet consists of second-hand locomotives, the company ordered the 1100 Class as new units from the United States. All eight members of the class entered service in 2011 and 2012. Their work includes intermodal freight service and hauling copper ore concentrates from Cobar in New South Wales.
