Brisbane’s Airport railway line is owned and operated by the private company Airtrain, although Queensland Rail trains service the line. It is a branch line running from the Caboolture line at Eagle Junction to Brisbane Airport, located north-east of the city. The line is single track between Eagle Junction and International, and double track between International and Domestic. Most of the line is built on an elevated concrete viaduct. Services from the Airport line typically extend to Varsity Lakes on the Gold Coast line after travelling through the city, although a small number of trains terminate at Roma Street. A new station on the Airport line has been proposed for the Skygate retail park on the airport’s south-western edge.
