Year of entry into service:
The DAZ Class units entered service in Western Australia as the DA Class. They were intended for general duties, and were extensively used for grain haulage. DAZ1901, which was originally class leader DA1571, is now the only member of the class in Western Australia and is used for training purposes. Five were sold for service in South Africa.
