Four FQ Class locomotives entered service in 2003, based on the earlier Q Class, which are now in service with Aurizon. They were obtained for service on the new standard gauge line from Adelaide to Darwin, and they continue in freight service on this line. FQ01 and FQ02 are painted with Aboriginal art designs.
