Melbourne’s G Class tram commenced service in 2026. They are similar to the Flexity 2 light rail vehicles in service on the Gold Coast. The use of regenerative braking and onboard batteries enabled power usage to be substantially reduced, and they provided greater accessibility than earlier trams. The G Class are maintained at Maidstone Depot.
