The Glen Waverley line extends to the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. It branches from the Lilydale line at Burnley and is double track throughout. The line includes gradients of 1 in 30 between Holmesglen and Glen Waverley. Almost all services on the line stop at all stations. Weekday trains commence at Flinders Street until the middle of the day, and then operate clockwise around the City Loop after this time, also running clockwise on weekends.
